DAY FOUR -- COMING HOME

Did I ever sleep well on Wednesday night!  Almost as soon as we got to the hotel I put on my pjs and got into bed.  Joe gave me the remote to the TV.  I turned it on, watched for a couple of minutes and then turned it off.  It didn't seem important to watch it.  Instead I hooked up with the wifi and read my email and facebook to see what was going on with everyone.  I don't think I'll ever get caught up with my blogs so I hope no one is upset if I didn't get to you.

About a half hour later I put my Kindle down, turned off the light on my side of the bed and went right to sleep.  I slept a good long time and it was wonderful.

The shower the next morning was wonderful too.  The one at Pinebrook was either cold, lukewarm or burning hot.  And they had shampoo at the hotel so I could finally wash my hair.  I am going to be much more prepared next year.

After I was finished, Joe took his shower.  It was great because there were bars to hold onto which we are used to here at home.  And there was a phone in the bathroom so if you fell, you could call for help.  This place thought of everything.

I don't have my glasses on and my hair is still wet, but I was happy it was clean!

Joe got ready while I packed everything up again.

This room even had a window you could open for fresh air if you didn't want the air conditioner on.  Because of our allergies we didn't open the window.  But I did take a look outside and it was so pretty!

Because we had slept so late it was about 10:30 a.m. when we were ready to leave.  Check out time was 11:00 a.m.  We liked this place so much that we are going to come back for vacation and stay there.

We had missed the free breakfast they had so decided to go into town to see what we could find.  The GPS pointed us to a Friendly's so that's where we headed.

The food was good and the service was wonderful!  I had a Belgian waffle with strawberries which I haven't had in ages.  Yum!

The drive home was uneventful.  It took 2 1/2 hours.  I was very glad to stop driving when I got here.  And very glad to see my little Snowy cat again.

It was a great time we had.  I didn't want to go.  I didn't think I'd like it.  I thought I would be bored.  And it turned out to be one of the best weeks of my life.

    1. Yes, it really is. I shouldn't pre-judge something I've never done. But we all do it, don't we?

    1. I slept even more when I got home. Almost all day Friday and Saturday. I guess I'm not as young as I used to be.

    1. And what a view! The Pocono Mountains area is very pretty no matter what time of year you go. But it's also always cold. Even in the summer. I've spent several weeks there in the summer and you need a sweater at night.

  4. Many of us take a hot shower for granted. Due to a repair,I once had to 'sponge bath' for two days. I am now grateful every time I get a hot one. I love the view! Beautiful! God is truly good.He gave you rest for your spirit and body. woof

    1. Oh, you could have a hot shower at Pinebrook. A REALLY hot shower. Maybe it was me. I couldn't seem to adjust the temperature. It really was beautiful there. There may have been rest for the spirit, but certainly not the body. I'm not used to walking up and down hills anymore. And there was a LOT of walking.

  5. Glad you had a good nights sleep and a yummy breakfast. You never know what to expect when you go to conferences. Glad God touched your heart. Thanks for sharing your time there. Interesting indeed. I forgot my contact lens holder one time so I used two different cups at the hotel to house them in overnight. I now have an extra one in my bathroom kit. And Erin is in hospital again and in labor. So I went and got the grandchildren again. We had them over the weekend. Hope you settle in well at home. Have a blessed day!
