SNOWY AND PUMPKIN

I did a photo shoot the other day of my two cuties.  Too bad Pumpkin is cute only in pictures.  He no longer wants to be cuddled like a baby.  He wants to go, go, go!  He wants to play with Snowy who wants no part of him.  All I hear when I get home from work is cats growling at each other, howling and Joe and me going, "No, Pumpkin!  Get off of Snowy!  Stop chewing on her ears!"  Snowy is so laid back and Pumpkin definitely is not!  He's a baby and wants to play.  Snowy is an old lady and she wants to sleep.  Plus, Pumpkin keeps running out the door and I have to go chase him.

But nevertheless I got some cute photos of them.  Here they are with their daddy while he's trying to sleep.  And yes, he falls asleep with his glasses on.  *sigh*  I'm forever taking them off of him as he snores away.

The movie today was "Christmas Song" (2012).  It was another good movie that held my interest.  Sort of predictable, but that's OK.  Not long until my morning movies are over.

Bob and Doug were both out today so it was just Diane, Grace and me at work.  And it was busy.  So much nicer to be busy than to be looking for something to do.

At the end of the day I got a call from Human Resources asking if I was still planning on retiring on December 31st.  I said yes and Melonie told me that she would be putting that information in to the city and I would very shortly be getting a notice for my exit interview and pension appointment.  Yes, I'm really going to do this.  I was going to let my vacation days run out and get another paycheck, but we figured out that doing that could interfere with my Social Security so I am going to take a lump sum check with my last pay.

Even though I will miss the camaraderie of my fellow co-workers, I am tired.  I am sick of living in a messy and dirty house.  I want to do more work for the Lord and less work for the city.  I want to spend more time with my family.  I think this is going to be a good move.  Most people go through this at some point in their lives. Now it's my turn.

I have to run because I have to take Joe to another doctor's appointment at the VA Medical Center tomorrow morning.  Oh, yes!  But we are NOT going to miss each other again.  I feel as if I know every inch of that parking lot.  So if there is no parking I am going home and Joe will come home himself.  The appointment is for 8:00 a.m. so we have to leave here by 7:00 a.m.  Being so early there will probably be parking.

So here's your Christmas picture of the day.  I love cardinals.  Very seldom have I seen a picture of both a male and female.

Until tomorrow...
