MATT'S PARTY

I'm going to start with the Christmas picture today.  I'm so enjoying sharing all of them with you.

This is Matt's last week with us,  so we gave him a goodbye party today.  Doug has become our social director and he arranged everything.  There was pizza, all kinds of beverages which he kept cold in an ice chest, and tons of chocolate treats for dessert.  We all enjoyed it.

Matt's really enjoying that pizza!

Notice how all the tablecloths, dishes, cups, and napkins match each other.  That's Doug's doing.

I had my favorite chocolate covered pretzels for dessert.
There was a steady stream of people in the library today.  That's the way I like it.  Not so busy you can't handle it, but not so slow that you sit there like a bump on a log.

I took some pictures of my desk so I could remember how it was.  I am starting to take it apart and bring things home.  *sigh*  It is so bittersweet.

My collection of rubber duckies.  We did this years ago (maybe 12 or so) at a former library that I worked at.  We all ordered rubber duckies.  That began it and I've added to it over the years.  Each one has a meaning.

The photos and origami on the wall over my desk.  Of course the ever present memos.

I finally got my desk straightened up and fairly clean after years of messiness.
I had to stop at Rite Aid after work.  It was a quick in and out trip.  When I came out I was admiring the lit houses across the street.  They were so pretty.  So much better in person than this picture.

I have my December nail polish on.  It's turquoise, my birthstone.  But it's almost gone!  Maybe one more time polishing.  I'll have to buy some more.

So that's what's going on.  I can't believe that Christmas is just 10 days away.  So much still to do.  Mainly cleaning out the living room and putting up the tree.  The next two weeks are going to be so busy!

The movie today was "12 Gifts of Christmas" (2015).  It was OK but certainly not my favorite.  Very predictable.  Well, I can't love them all.  I probably will give this another chance next year to see if I like it better.

So that's it.  Another day of work tomorrow.  But not many more.

  1. Sounds like a great party. About your desk....been there and it is bittersweet. You know the time is right for the next step, but you will miss it.It was a big part of your life for quite awhile. The house lights are so pretty! I love seeing the way people decorate.
    have a merry day!

  2. Oh sweet girl, You are the short timer now...two weeks to go. I know that bittersweet feeling. Remember what I told you...the first day after I retired, I cried...cause I didn't have a job after 30 some years. You'll have those days...but in the long run, you'll be getting all your health needs tended to. Blessings to you, xoxo,Susie
