THREE WEEKS TO GO...

...and I still haven't heard anything from Human Resources about my exit interview, keeping my health insurance, pension.  Nothing.  Wouldn't you think they would set things up by now?  I am going to email them tomorrow to find out just what is going on.

Meanwhile, I applied for my Social Security benefits to start when I turn 62.  I got a message back from them saying they have made a decision and I will find out what it is later.  Huh?  Apparently I have to wait for a letter from them but I have no idea when it will be coming.  This whole thing is so strange.

We had two of our part-timers in work today so I didn't have to get onto the desk at all.  I am still trying to get everything done so I was glad I had the extra time.  Supply list went in today and I got three people to look for the items on the missing list.  I was also able to stay off of my foot all day.  That was a help.

Tomorrow is Boss' birthday so I am going to get a cake in the morning before I go in.  Bob already got some soda and juice.  It is also our new Children's Librarian's first day.  Imagine your first day at a new job and there's a party.

Speaking of parties, my movie today was "Best Christmas Party Ever" (2014).  It was so good.  A typical Hallmark movie but good nonetheless.  One line in it really stood out to me.  The "boss" was retiring and the "leading lady" asked if she wasn't sad to be leaving the job.  The boss replied, "It's not the end of a job, it's the beginning of life's party."  "Wow," I thought.  "What a great way to look at it."  That's how I'm going to look at it.  Yes, it's sad to leave my job and my friends but it's not like I'll never see them again.  And this is the beginning of life's party.

Thank you to everyone who has viewed Joe's message from yesterday.  I can't believe that he has received 12 views in one day.  I hope you all got something from it.  He gets better each week.  But we will both be glad when this preaching every week is over.  It's a lot of work for both of us -- me typing everything up and him studying and doing the actual message.

I still have things to do before I go to bed, so I will end.  Have a good night everyone.

  1. Three weeks to go! Whoo Hooo! Have fun at your party tomorrow. I really do need to take a minute and listen to Joe's preaching. I will do that one night this week...pinky promise. I have just been overwhelmed with everything that is going on.

SSecurity sends you all those crazy "formed" responses. I took mine at 62, too. Just so you know-you don't get a check that first month- they make you wait at least a full month before you get it and then, depending on what day your birthday is on-the check is pro-rated accordingly for that first one.

Hope you have a great day tomorrow. xo Diana

  4. I've found any time you deal with paperwork,it's a waiting game. Do send the email, especially this being the holidays. Giving a nudge couldn't hurt. The movie sounds good & that line....well..I feel it was meant for you.
The party sounds like fun, with the new person starting too! May everyone enjoy!
