A WORKING SATURDAY

Because of my foot hurting me so much, I wasn't sure about going to work today.  I went back and forth on it and finally got myself together and went.  I think it was better that I did.  I stayed off of my foot all day, the bathroom was on the same floor so that I didn't have to do any steps, and I accomplished so much!  My desk looks so much better -- and cleaner.  I got some reports done (that should have been done by the end of last month!), ordered some bus schedules for our front desk, went through old email, entered change of addresses and generally just got a lot done. You can do a lot if you don't have to go on the front desk every other hour.  And I wasn't on at all today.

My movie this morning was Northpole (2014) another one that I saw new last year.  It's a good one and I see that there is a sequel coming out in a few weeks.  That's exciting!

Joe went to the store tonight and he came back with a beautiful bouquet for me.  I was so surprised.  That was sweet of him.

He also made dinner for me tonight -- flounder and mixed veggies.  He really does try to take care of me.

Joe is preaching tomorrow morning at church and again next week.  He is doing a couple of messages on Thanksgiving.

I volunteered to make the church bulletins for awhile.  We haven't had any in months.  I have a template and I just plug in the information so it takes me literally minutes to do it.  I am putting some clip art on it too and I'm having a lot of fun trying to find the right pictures.  Here's the one for tomorrow.  I think it turned out pretty well.

It is getting late, so I am going to bed so that I can get up tomorrow.  Until later...

  2. Hi Kathy..
I'm sorry to hear that your foot is hurting. I hope it's better soon. Your flowers are so pretty. What a thoughtful and loving husband and to make you dinner as well! we enjoy Christmas movies as well. And Bailee Madison is one of my favorite little actresses. She's so sweet! Your bulletin looks very nice and the sermon very interesting. I wish I could visit and listen to his message. I hope your Sunday is blessed.

    1. I like Bailee Madison too, I loved her playing Grace on "The Good Witch". Thanks for your compliment on the bulletin. I am putting up the link so that you can hear Joe's message if you would like.

  3. Hi Kathy! I came over to see how retirement is going only to learn that you have a few weeks to go. Thank you for posting about a Christmas movie. I have not seen or heard of that one and we have watched all the others ten times over. =D

    1. I know what you mean, Vee. Sometimes these TV stations show the Christmas movies over and over. Northpole is a cute movie. I hope you get a chance to see it. Yes, retirement is literally days away.

  4. How sweet of your hubby. He knew you needed cheering up. Nice that you can print the church bulletins. Did you decide to stay at the same church or did you find another?

    1. We did decide to stay at the same church. We are getting a new pastor very shortly and things are settling down so we are staying for awhile to see what happens. We both really like it there and love the people we worship with. It was just some crazy stuff going on that made us want to find somewhere else to worship.

  6. Guess that was the silver lining- getting so much done (the cloud was surrounding your foot). Hope it is better today.

The bulletin looks good- I used to do a bulletin, too, and it was a lot of work-but satisfying, too.

That was so sweet of Joe to bring you flowers and fix dinner. Sounds like a great guy.

Hope the preaching went well today! xo Diana
