ANOTHER TRAINEE

Yes, you read that right.  I walked into work today and there was one of our customers, Denise, sitting there.  "Hi!" she said.  "I'm your new employee.  I was told you would be training me today."  Huh???  O...K....  So now I am training three new people.  I know that the powers that be think I am one of the best trainers in the system but now it's just getting ridiculous.  I don't even have enough desks or chairs for everyone.

But...  Denise is really nice and so eager to learn.  I always start my trainees off easy -- check in, check out.  Once they have that down, then I move on to other things.  We were really busy today and so Denise got to see how things are when it's piled up and there are lines of people.  And...  she kept her cool!  When we got a little lull in things she said she had no idea as a customer just how much we do behind the scenes.  I think she feels a little overwhelmed, but I told her she did really well.  Grace another of the new employees was there today too and I complimented her as well.  Things have just seemed to click with her and I can now leave her on the desk by herself.  She still has some questions, of course, but she is doing really well.

I went to Rite Aid at lunch time today.  I found this kitchen set for 1/2 price.  It is so cute.  A scrubby dishcloth in rust, a dish towel in harvest gold and a drying mat in autumn colors.  I love it.

It has gotten colder and I lit the fire tonight.  It's pretty to watch it but a bit sad because it means winter is coming.

I have one more decoration to show you tonight.  I found my autumn blessing sign.  Now I just have to keep digging away to find all my October decorations.  (Sorry this is kind of blurry.  It's the best I could do.)

Now I have to go to bed.  I'm so sleepy.  Until later...

  2. I bet you are a good trainer. You are organized and I bet you are pretty methodical when it comes to tasks that need to be done. You will have those gals trained in no time. However, it would be nice if they let you know what was going on beforehand! xo Diana

    1. Yes, it would be nice to know ahead of time, wouldn't it? I knew she was coming, but no one ever told me when. Boss is leaving more and more up to me (i.e. scheduling) so I don't know what he's going to do in two months when I am no longer there. I'm known as one of the best trainers in the system. I don't think so, but that's nice that the powers that be do.

    1. I try to be nice to them too. They have never been exposed to a lot of things so I can't get upset if they have no idea what I'm talking about.
