JULY PHOTO CHALLENGE #11 -- FRUIT/VEGETABLE

This was a very lazy day for me.  I did nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  I watched some TV, made breakfast and dinner, took a nap, ordered my groceries online so that I didn't have to walk around the store and that was it.

I'm feeling very sad and I think that may have something to do with it.  But I have to shake myself out of this funk I'm in and get on with things.  There is a LOT to do.

I have been feeling sad ever since last Sunday when our pastor announced that he is leaving the church.  I love our pastor and am so sorry to see him go.  The church is in a bit of turmoil.  I'm not sure if I will continue to attend the church or go somewhere else.  I do not do well with change and uncertainty.  I will miss him and his whole family (including Miss A!).

Our gardener, Frank, came over this afternoon.  He has a new full-time job and is very busy which is why I haven't seen him for awhile.  He cut the grass for me.  It took only a few minutes when he did it and it looks beautiful -- like a carpet.  He will be back next weekend to help me with the weeding and cutting back the rose bushes.

So for the photo challenge I was going to photo the delicious Brussels sprouts I made for dinner, but I forgot.  So I am going to show you one of the hauls I made at the farm awhile back.

I love going to the farm and the produce is always so great.  Next Saturday is farm day and I'm looking forward to it.

It's off to bed so I can get up for church tomorrow.  Four years ago we began studying the book of Genesis and tomorrow is the end.  I've been there for each chapter and I certainly want to hear this last message.

Kathy

  1. I can certainly empathize. Sometimes change can be good, though we don't see it at the time. Hope the cloud lifts from you soon & you see the silver lining!

  2. I am sad that your Pastor is leaving, but maybe you will get a new one who will preach and teach the Gospel. Dont get in a hurry to leave. The Pastor that left our church some 6 years ago, had been there 20+ years. But the new Pastor has brought life to the church and we are growing by leaps and bounds. He preaches the Word, and stands by his strong convictions and we all love him so much. So, give a new Pastor a chance and pray for the one leaving, that he will find a church to do his work. The veggies look fantastic. I know you are happy to have your yard mowed. Have a blessed day.

    1. We are not getting a new pastor. It is just a matter of time before the denomination closes us. I don't want to be there at the end.

  3. OH!!! Kathy!
My heart hurts for you. We lost our pastor last year and haven't gotten a new one yet.
We moved, so now it's all about looking for a new church.

  5. Your fruits and vegetables look so good! I love fresh produce. It always tastes so much better!

Sorry I haven't been commenting as much as I would like. I've been reading and looking at all your posts but I've been very busy with my jobs and I've been fighting a migraine.

  6. Hello Kathy. My wife reads your blog and loves you and it. She told me about your church and the Pastor leaving. My understanding is that your church family is very close, like a family. If you are interested I can suggest (2) two churches that you all can join and stay together as a family. I am sure you all will be welcomed there. I would suggest my church, but we're way up in Germantown. We too send you love and Gods' power from up here, in the name of Jesus, Rich. PS. 1. I'm sorry I am not too good with the technical ways. I don't mean to be anonymous but that's the only way I seem to be able to get this to you. 2. Can I send you a few songs from my group?

    1. Thank you, Rich. That is so nice of you and your wife to think of me. Things are so up in the air right now. Would you email me personally and we could talk about this? Thanks.

  8. That produce is all grown up! I well understand how unsettling it is to have your pastor move on. I suppose one must trust that God has called him elsewhere to call a new and equally good man to serve your church. Keep looking up!
