THE DISASTER

I'm so glad I got a picture of my Ukrainian Easter Egg.

Because this is what it looks like now.

I was straightening up the sofa.  Fluffing the pillows.  Folding the quilt.  The edge of the pillow caught the vase, it lost its balance and fell over.  I heard this crunch and had a sickening feeling before I even looked.

I am heartbroken.  Joe cleaned it up and told me not to worry about it.  It's just a thing.  I know he is right.  But still...

Joe says he will buy me another but this time it will be made of wood.

  3. Oh Kathy, so sorry about the beautiful egg. But boy that Joe is thinking ahead isn't he :):) I have been wondering if your town had the horrible rains. Some places are having lots of problems . Blessings to you and Joe, enjoy your weekend, xoxo,Susie

    1. We had horrible rains on Wednesday, but fortunately minimal flooding and no damage where I was. Unfortunately others weren't so lucky.

  6. My heart hurts with yours,Kathy. While it may only be a 'thing',it was special to you.Replacing it doesn't make it the 'same' What IS special is Joe's heart in trying to fix it. Russ would do the same. The hurt of losing it is temporary. The "I'll fix it" love of my husband? That is lasting....much more precious to my heart.
Just think, the new egg will be a story between you & Joe .....a story of love!

  7. sorry to hear about your egg. I bought a couple pretty wooden eggs a couple years ago. There's a big wrap around decal on it. I enjoy them alot. Bought them at Cost Plus World Market before Easter! I got one of them wet, accidentally but they are ok. Didn't know if the coloring was gonna rub off or not. Hugs!
