A LAZY SUNDAY

I started out for church early this morning to deliver my hoagie platter for Coffee Hour.  My friend, Carol Ann, was taking her turn today to prepare the food.  She had made a cake.  Unfortunately it didn't turn out and when she was supposed to be leaving the house it was still batter.  Oops!  So she was very happy that I brought the sandwiches.  There was plenty for everyone and I even talked some people into taking leftovers home.  I still brought 8 home.  I gave 4 to my neighbor and we have 4 here for tomorrow.

This afternoon I settled in to watch some DVDs and promptly fell asleep for the entire afternoon.  When I woke up I thought it was Monday morning and that it was 5:30 a.m. instead of 5:30 p.m.  What a deep sleep I had.  But I got myself up and started dinner.

I had a ham steak, fresh green beans and mashed sweet potatoes for dinner.  Everything was so good.  I put a little bit of cinnamon in the sweet potatoes and it gave them a great flavor.  I have never done that before, but I think I will do it again.

Do you know it's only 45 days to Christmas?  I don't know how I'm going to get everything done that I want to.  Even the reindeer are getting ready.

I am going to go now to watch Downtown Abbey.  It's a rerun of Season 3 but Joe says Season 4 starts in January so this is a good reminder of who all the characters are.  So goodnight for now.

  1. We just watched the final episode of Season 4 last night. Overall I found it a bit disappointing, it will be interesting to see what you think.
How fortuitous that you had the hoagies, it is funny how things work out.

add it at home sometimes. Yes,Christmas is right around the corner! Everything seems so rushed this year.....I like enjoying each holiday for what it is....

  4. Poor girl with her unbaked cake! I hate when I fall asleep like that and wake up disoriented...and then I can't sleep that night either. lol

I love Downton Abbey and should probably re-watch Season 3, too. Have a great week- xo Diana
