Let's Go Back a Couple of Days

There wasn't much going on today.  Joe did get the car into the garage to get it inspected.  We didn't realize it needed to get inspected until on Saturday my brother Larry told us.  Because we haven't had the car a year yet we didn't realize it was up in November and not August like our old car was.

Well, speaking of Larry, he and his wife Kim came to see us on Saturday afternoon to exchange Christmas gifts.  Yes, it is so close to Christmas that we are exchanging gifts already.  They gave Joe an electronic bank that looks like a Phillies hat.  He absolutely loves it.  I got two things that I asked for -- Susan Boyle's new CD and the City Tavern cookbook.  City Tavern was where Washington, Jefferson, John and Samuel Adams and Franklin used to eat when they were in Philadelphia.  A very cool place.  I am thrilled to get it.  In fact I am planning on using one of the recipes tomorrow.

Larry's birthday is January 3rd so of course he got his birthday gift too.  We got him a game on company logos.  A really cool thing which I may go back to Walmart and get for myself.

After they left, we got ready to go out with our friends Debbie and Rusty.  Instead of exchanging gifts this year, we decided to have dinner together.  We went to the Country Club and had a wonderful time.  This is probably going to turn into a yearly thing.  That would be fun.

That's it for today and I will try to catch up some more tomorrow.

  1. Joe's bank looks great! What a unique gift.
Russ & I enjoyed the dinner as well as the sharing. We too hope to make it a tradition, though any time you'd like to do it before is ok too.One of the nicest things about the holiday can be spending time with friends & family.
